Amy D. Joyce
Partner - Skolnick & Joyce, P.A.
Amy is an experienced attorney in family law and business litigation with a reputation for aggressiveness and tenacity. She will not only see your side, she’ll fight for it, with a style that’s both competent and uncompromising. Her clients see her as supremely knowledgeable of the law, cunning in the face of adversity, and respectable beyond question. Amy’s job isn’t finished until she has done everything she can to provide the best result for her client, be it through settlement or trial.
ON BECOMING A LAWYER
Amy was coaxed into the practice of law by two attorneys and a judge, who saw in her an intrinsic ability to see right and wrong in the most compromising of circumstances. Early on, she realized it would probably be her life’s work to fight the good fight. It quickly became her passion and remains so to this day.
ON THE CHALLENGES OF PRACTICING LAW
Some nights are long. Some mornings are early. Some people you go up against in this business are less than charitable, equitable or even ethical. While this can create contentious litigation, it does not bother Amy. She does not like to lose. So, she will do everything ethically and legally within her power to protect her client and obtain a just result.
ON HER FIRM’S BRAND
“One word—team. Everybody here really buys into the philosophy of work hard and always conduct yourself with honesty and integrity. Our brand is tenacity, honesty and compassion. It’s those guiding principles coupled with being very good at what we do that clients not only come to us but stay with us as well.”
ON HOW SHE’S DIFFERENT FROM OTHER LAWYERS
The business of law is filled with huge egos. Amy finds this to be a hindrance and a waste of time. Her down-to-earth attitude and no-nonsense candor allows for efficiency and efficacy in her cases and expediency in the court system.
Enjoys being with family and friends, who are amazing, working out (spinning, kick boxing, rowing, yoga—most physical activity actually), reading, traveling and cooking.
